1854 Legacy Circle
Making a planned gift is not just for those who have wealth or special financial expertise, but for anyone with a generous spirit who wants to designate their gifts while they are living. In February 2002 the Session passed a Policy for Permanent Gifts to Westminster. This policy presents guidelines for accepting and investing planned gifts to our church. The policy also creates The 1854 Legacy Circle. In 1854 Westminster Presbyterian Church was founded by a group who shared a deep Christian commitment and abiding faith in the future of Buffalo. The land upon which the present church is built was itself a permanent gift from one of those founders, Jesse Ketchum. In recognition of our predecessors' vision of ministry in the Buffalo community and generous gifts of resources and faith, the Session created The 1854 Legacy Circle of Westminster Presbyterian Church. All donors of permanent gifts to Westminster, past, present and future, will become members of The 1854 Legacy Circle of Westminster. By recognizing those who have benefited Westminster through their estate planning, we will honor them for all they have given to the church. It is with deep gratitude that we acknowledge all those who have joined The 1854 Legacy Circle this year and in years past. These gifts have made it possible for the ministries of Westminster to continue to grow and benefit our community and our congregation. We are thankful for each and every legacy gift.
