Children's Ministries

Come & Meet Us

If your family is new to Westminster or you're just visiting, all children are welcome in our Sunday programs. Families are invited to begin worship together. Children will be invited to join the pastor for "Time with Children". After this time together, the pastor will dismiss them to their Sunday School classes which end at 11:30AM.   Parents and children can meet after worship and Sunday School in the Holmes Room, a common area located between the Sanctuary and Chapel.

First Sunday is Communion Sunday

On the first Sunday of the month, all Sunday school classes begin at 10:30AM in the Holmes Chapel for Children's Church.  Lead by teachers and youth, this interactive worship is designed for children.  The children will join their families during the hymn after the sermon, so they can celebrate communion together.  All baptized children - with their parent's consent - are free to participate in communion.

Infants & Toddlers meet in the WECP (School) Building in  the Seashore's  Classroom, Sundays from 8 AM to 12 PM

Infants and toddlers are welcome at our worship services. For our families' convenience comfortable spaces are located to the rear of the Sanctuary and in the Conference Room to the front for those times when little ones need soothing during worship.

When parents deem it appropriate for their children, the folks in the Infant & Toddler classroom offer an alternative. Our childcare providers offer a safe and loving environment for young children from 8 AM to 12 PM so that parents may worship and attend any of the adult classes while their toddlers are playing. To find the Infant & Toddler Classroom, come to the nursery school building, turn right past the double doors and follow on to the end on the hallway. Newcomers are advised to check-in with the Deacon at the Church information desk.

Pre-school Class (3 to 5 year olds) meet in the Pooh Corner Classroom in the WECP School Building

Chris & Debby LaMendola are our much loved teachers.. After Time with Children in worship, our preschoolers will leave with Mr. Chris & Mrs. Debby. Because children in this age group need the stability of one classroom and the same teacher each week, they are not part of our Rotation Workshop classes. Parents are asked to meet their children in the Holmes Room after the 10:30AM service. To find Pooh Corner, come to the nursery school building, turn left past the double doors and follow on, around the corner to Room B4.

Workshop Rotation Classes for Grades 1-5

Each month the children in these classes explore one Bible story in a different workshop. On the first Sunday of the month, all the classes begin at 10:30AM in the Chapel and then join the congregation for communion. On the following Sundays of the month, our classes rotate each Sunday through one of our multi-media workshops. Check the Sunday bulletin for our monthly schedule workshops classrooms.
