Epiphany III; Ordinary People: Satan is a Person
Deuteronomy 18:15-20, Mark 1:21-28

The Reverend Dr. Thomas H. Yorty
Transfiguration Sunday; In A Different Light
Mark 9:2-9
This moment on a mountain anticipating his entrance to Jerusalem
reminds us that Jesus is the light of the world, not us.
That’s encouraging amidst the discouraging world and church.

The Reverend Dr. Thomas H. Yorty
Lent I; Crooked Timber
Genesis 9:8-17; Mark 1:9-15
Lent corresponds to high holy seasons in other religions when adherents reflect upon the flaws of human nature
and turn toward the source of life for healing, renewal and strength. Christians use Lent to step away from
>the distractions of the world, go deeper and renew spiritually.

February 25
The Reverend Dr. Thomas H. Yorty
Lent II; The Cross Already
Genesis 17:1-7, 15-16: Mark 8:31-38
