A Cappella For the Ages

Buffalo Tango Orkestra
The Buffalo Tango Orkestra was formed in summer 2012 by Moshe Shulman to perform Argentine tango music by contemporary arrangers and composers. Compline

The Phantom of the Opera
Westminster's Director of Music and Organist, Garrett F. Martin, performs an improvised score to the 1925 silent film starring Lon Cheney. Saturday, October 29th, 2016 at 8:00 PM in the Sanctuary            

Reformation Sunday
The choirs of Westminster join with the Buffalo Bach Project to present Bach's Cantata BWV 80, Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott (A Mighty Fortress is Our God). This popular cantata was premiered on Reformation Sunday in 1735. Sunday, October 30th, 2016 at 10:30 in the Sanctuary

All Saints Sunday
The choirs of Westminster and musicians of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra present John Rutter's moving Requiem. The piece was composed following the death of Rutter's father. Sunday, November 6th, 2016 at 10:30 AM in the Sanctuary

Christmas Eve Festival Service of Lessons and Carols
The Westminster Choirs, Handbell Choir, and Musicians of the Buffalo Philharmonic present this cherished holiday tradition. Preceding the service is a concert featuring favorite Handbell carols, and Poulenc's exuberant Gloria. The Service of Lessons and Carols features a variety of styles of music from around the world, and is inspired by the service started at King's College, Cambridge. Gian-Carlo Menotti's classic opera returns to Westminster for the second year! Join Amahl and his Mother as they meet the Three Kings and learn a valuable holiday lesson. Tickets available online or at the door, $20.00; educators, please ask about a special school performance on Friday morning. Masterworks Service
The Westminster Choir and members of the Buffalo Philharmonic join together to present Bob Chilcott's St. John Passion. The piece is a dramatic retelling of the Passion story that combines thirteenth century English poetry with texts from the King James Bible. The piece also pays homage to the St. John Passion of Bach through its use of an evangelist narrator role. Sunday, March 19th, 2017 at 10:30 AM in the Sanctuary

Palm Sunday

Western New York Chamber Orchestra
The Western New York Chamber Orchestra will present Mozart's "Great" Mass in C minor, along with John Corigliano's "Creation." The concert will feature the Masterworks Choir of SUNY Fredonia, the Westminster Choir, and guest soloists. Friday, April 21st, 2017 at 7:30 PM in the Sanctuary

Westminster Friends of Music Gala
Join us at the Saturn Club of Buffalo for an evening of fine dining, brilliant music, a silent auction, and lots of fun! Donations are tax-deductible and benefit the Westminster Friends of Music. Tickets available online, $75.00. Friday, May 12th, 2017 at 7:30pm

Guest Organist: Diane Bish
Arguably the most famous concert organist of her generation, Diane Bish is well known to audiences through her popular TV program, The Joy of Music. Together with the choirs of Westminster, Calvary Episcopal Church, and St. Paul's Cathedral, Bish will present an eclectic program featuring familiar masterworks and her own compositions. Fridays @ Westminster
Each Friday, local Buffalo artists present a 30 minute lunchtime recital in Westminster's Historic Sanctuary. Come for the music, stay for lunch provided a local food truck. Fridays at 12:00, September 16th-December 16th 2016; January 20th-May 19th 2017 in the Sanctuary
