Western New York Chamber Orchestra

In their first season as orchestra-in-residence, WNYCO presents Resphigi’s Trittico Botticelliano and SUNY Fredonia faculty member Fr. Sean Duggan performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto in E-flat, Jeunehomme.


Staff Singer Concert

The Westminster Choir’s staff singers will share some of their favorite songs from different genres. You’ve enjoyed hearing them in worship each week, but have you heard them sing jazz, Broadway, or opera? This is your chance!


Evensong for Blessing of the Animals

St. Francis was known as the patron saint of animals. The Westminster Choir welcomes all two-legged and four-legged creatures to this special service of evensong. Afterwards, join us for a reception on the south lawn with the horses of the Buffalo Police Department.

Annual Silent Movie: The Phantom of the Opera
Friday, October 27th, 2017—8:00 PM in the Sanctuary
Part of Westminster’s Celebration of the Organ weekend, Westminster’s Organist and Choirmaster, Garrett F. Martin, will provide an improvised score to the 1925 silent film starring Lon Cheney. Dress up in your halloween costume and bring the entire family!


First Lady of the Organ, Diane Bish
Sunday, October 29th, 2017—4:00 PM in the Sanctuary
Known to audiences through her TV program, The Joy of Music, Diane Bish is arguably the most well-known organist of her generation. She will present a program of familiar masterworks and original compositions with a festival choir of singers from local churches. Tickets, $25, available at wpcbuffalo.org.


All Saints Day | Requiem for the Homeless
Sunday, November 5th, 2017—10:30 AM and 4:00 PM in the Sanctuary
The Westminster Choir will present Malcolm Archer’s Requiem in remembrance of Westminster members who have passed away in the preceding year. The afternoon performance will be given in memory of Buffalo’s deceased homeless citizens.


Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus presents “Winter Wonderland”

Under the direction of Garrett F. Martin and Abigail Rockwood, the BGMC presents an eclectic holiday program of choral classics and audience favorites for men’s voices.


Bach’s Cantata BWV 140, Wachet Auf

The Westminster Schola and orchestra will present Bach’s popular and festive Advent cantata, Wachet Auf as part of morning worship.


Messiah Sunday

In this new annual tradition, The Westminster Choirs will perform favorite arias and choruses from Handel's seminal work in morning worship, accompanied by a string quartet.


Christmas at Westminster

The Westminster Choirs and the Buffalo Brass Octet will present a program of Christmas classics, including Britten’s Ceremony of Carols and Rutter’s Gloria. The audience is invited to participate in singing favorite holiday songs and carols.

Christmas Eve, Lessons and Carols
Sunday, December 24th, 2017—10:45 PM in the Sanctuary, Prelude at 10:00 PM
The Westminster Choirs pay tribute to the traditional Lessons and Carols service format which began at Kings College, Cambridge. Poignant readings alternating with favorite musical selections help prepare for the birth of Jesus. The Buffalo Brass Octet performs John Rutter’s Gloria at 10:00 PM.

For the third year, Gian Carlo Menotti’s classic holiday opera returns to Westminster. Amahl and his mother meet the three kings and learn a valuable lesson about helping those that are less fortunate. The production features full sets, costumes, chorus, and a chamber orchestra. Voices of Spirit

Under the direction of Caron Daley, the Voices of Spirit are the preeminent auditioned choir at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, and have sung with the Pittsburgh Symphony and at Pittsburgh Steelers football games. Don’t miss them in this rare Western New York appearance!

Improvisations on the Stations of the Cross

Westminster’s Organist and Choirmaster, Garrett F. Martin, will offer brief musical improvisations on each station of the cross, alternating with readings of poetry by Paul Claudel.


Tenebrae, Service of Shadows

Beginning at the moment of sundown, this solemn service offers readings and meditations on Jesus’ death and the commencement of three days’ mourning.


Service of the Resurrection on Easter

The Westminster Choirs and Buffalo Brass Octet offer this joyous service celebrating Jesus’ resurrection.


Western New York Chamber Orchestra
Friday, April 13th, 2018—7:30 PM in the Sanctuary
The Western New York Chamber Orchestra, orchestra-in-residence at Westminster, presents their second program—a tribute to Josef Haydn. The concert will include Haydn’s Symphony No. 44 in F# minor, “Farewell,” and the Theresien Mass, featuring the SUNY Fredonia choirs.


Bach Cantata 147, Herz und mund und tat und leben

The Westminster Schola presents Bach’s Cantata 147, Heart and mouth and deed and life, as part of morning worship. The piece features four vocal soloists and the ever-popular hymn tune “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.”
