Westminster believes part of following our command to make disciples (Matthew 28) is providing leadership opportunities, education, and community for our young people. Having a supported, mission-focused, and student-led youth ministry is vital to the overall health of our church body and in keeping with our commitment to Christian Education as a key component of our church identity and purpose.
Westminster’s Youth Ministry nurtures participants from the unique stage of our confirmation program through the challenges and spiritual development through high school. We provide a loving, growing, and safe environment that enables a variety of abilities, ages, and personalities to be unconditionally accepted and supported.
Special activities include regular meals and meet-ups, mission projects in our local community, and moments for worship, spiritual growth, community, conversation, and fun. Each February, our students engage on a Vision Trip to a major city for exploration, education, and spiritual discipleship. Also, A highlight of each summer is the high school trip to Maine, a standing missional experience for 45+ years. Our students plan for, raise money to support, and complete this historic trip for mission work with the communities of Hartford, Maine.
